Conversations that Matter

Dialogue is at the center of the community we build at the Front Porch Project. Whether it's a friendly exchange when we bring you a coffee or share a favorite book, an imprompteau seminar struck up between a visiting seminarian and a professor of economics at the table by the green sofa, a facilitated World Café-style exchange, where friends and strangers move from table to table to share ideas and build a common understanding of a current or timeless topic, or a post to our 'blog with a flurry of responses, we look for, and promote, that exchange of ideas. Loggia, our headquarters, combines the best elements of a bookstore, coffee shop, and public forum, providing as much grist for our communal mill as possible. The Front Porch Project seeks out people with interesting and challenging ideas, as visiting speakers, as discussion engines at the table, and just to join our family of regulars. Exciting opinions are welcome, as long as we are mutually respectful, committed to a commom search for meaning.

Join us in our community on Livejournal--anyone can post and participate, just set up an account! As we evolve we will create a virtual forum and develop our on-line blogs to share and archive our mutual thoughts. We're planning a series of real-life dialogues before we open our doors--check our calendar for more details!
